About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Endeavor Health in Chicago. The role is full-time, with shifts typically lasting 10 hours and including call requirements. The nurse will utilize the nursing process for patient care, maintain competency, contribute to professional development, integrate ethical practices and evidence-based research, and promote a safe therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include documentation, guiding staff, and enhancing professional growth.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- IL RN License
- CPR BLS through American Heart Association
- ACLS through American Heart Association
- PALS through American Heart Association within 3 mths of start
- Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
- Communicates effectively and if experienced RN, is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
- Reliable transportation for floating
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience as a staff nurse.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.
- Maintains competency reflective of current standards practice.
- Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
- Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
- Recognizes and adjusts to situations that vary from the norm.
- Promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
- Guides and supervises staff in the provision of patient care.
- Enhances own professional growth and development.
- Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes need for action in emergency situations.
- Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
