About The Position

This part-time Registered Nurse position in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Evanston, with the ability to travel to other Endeavor Hospitals, involves providing safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care. The role utilizes the nursing process for planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including patients and families in the plan. The nurse will maintain regulatory compliance, assume accountability for nursing care outcomes, and make decisions based on the therapeutic relationship with the patient. This position also involves guiding unlicensed nursing personnel and collaborating with the healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care. Specific duties include perioperative care for patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Phase 1 & 2 care for peri-anesthesia patients from the Operating Rooms and supporting procedure areas.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a state approved school of nursing required.
  • IL RN License
  • 1 year experience in comparable role
  • CPR BLS issued by the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • PACU/ ICU/ Behavioral Health experience preferred
  • ACLS and PALS by the American Heart Association preferred
  • CPAN/CAPA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations on a specific unit.
  • Utilizes the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care.
  • Includes patient and family in the plan of care as appropriate.
  • Maintains regulatory compliance in individual practice.
  • Assumes the responsibility, accountability, and authority for outcomes of nursing care and to make decisions based on their therapeutic relationship with the patient.
  • Guides and directs assigned unlicensed nursing personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
  • Communicates and collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Perioperative care of patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).
  • Phase 1 & 2 care of peri anesthesia patients from the Operating Rooms and supporting procedure areas.
