ERP International is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Full-time position in support of the PACU at Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center, Nellis AFB, NV. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS).
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a clinical nurse in the medical/surgical or critical care inpatient setting.
Experience with newborn to geriatric population.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in post anesthesia/sedation.
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse from any state.
BLS/ACLS/PALS from American Red Cross or American Health Association.
Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

Responsibilities

Support a 24/7 PACU operation with 8, 10, or 12-hour day shifts, with the specific schedule determined by the Government supervisor.
Participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends and federally recognized holidays, with a requirement to respond and report to the facility within 30 minutes of notification.
Provide Perioperative Nursing Care, including knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, disease processes, and procedures for acutely ill pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Utilize the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
Administer pharmacological agents, including dosage calculations, and monitor desired effects, side effects, and complications.
Maintain proper documentation of patient conditions, including disease progress, teaching, and follow-up care.
Assess and manage a wide range of medical disorders and conditions in critically ill patients.
Provide knowledge of preventative health schedules, procedures, processes, and education methods.
Synthesize data from various sources and make appropriate clinical decisions, including interpreting lethal rhythms independently.
Utilize computer operations, basic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records.
Coordinate patient care through a continuum, facilitating optimal outcomes in relation to care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice according to established policies and guidelines.
Provide care within ethical and legal boundaries.
Make patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
Provide preoperative education/teaching for surgical procedures.
Demonstrate proper preparation of patients for treatments and procedures, including surgical procedures.
Provide proper care and evaluation of pre and post-procedural patients.
Collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions for teaching/education.
Use appropriate communication formats for professional issues.
Perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic.
Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergencies.
Set up, operate, and monitor specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, nebulizers, and other unit-specific equipment.
Perform nursing procedures such as dressing changes, catheterization, wound irrigation, intravenous fluid administration, blood transfusion, oxygen administration, vital signs, and specimen collection.
Complete orientation and competency verification programs.
Perform duties in accordance with unit operating instructions, policies, and American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) standards.
Participate in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel.
Serve and participate in committees, functions, and meetings.
Provide relevant and timely information to groups and assist with decision-making and process improvement.
Participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities.
Ensure a safe work environment, employee safe work habits, and patient safety in accordance with regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives.
