Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Seamlessly transition between prepping patients for surgery by validating clinical assessments, managing charts, and easing pre-surgical anxiety, to guiding them through immediate post-anesthesia recovery using evidence-based protocols.
  • Monitor and record patient conditions dynamically during the vulnerable post-op window, precisely executing physician orders, managing pain protocols, and serving as a calming, reassuring bridge of communication for families.
  • Serve as the central hub of the surgical care journey, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and floor nurses to coordinate seamless interdisciplinary workflows, culminating in comprehensive discharge planning for a safe transition home.
