About The Position

This role utilizes clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The nurse will assess, monitor, detect, plan, and take appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications and promote an optimal level of health. The position is accountable for integrating care within the scope of practice licensure, relevant education, and experience. The Registered Nurse reports to the shift Team Leader and is accountable to the Department Manager. Job duties are guided by policies and procedures. Level-specific criteria are evaluated annually and can be found in the MNM Clinical Ladder.

Requirements

• License to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
• Competent within 6 months of hire with all age groups within defined patient population.
• Demonstrates sensitivity when interacting with diverse ethnic groups.
• BLS certified

• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions.
• Assesses, monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications and promotes optimal level of health.
• Integrates care within scope of practice licensure, relevant education and experience.
• Collaborates with other members of the health care team to develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized written plan of care based upon a physiological, psychosocial, spiritual assessment consistent with patient/significant other’s changing needs & goals, utilizing the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the “Caring-Quality Model.”
• Seeks life-long learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review.
• Demonstrates leadership through sharing of knowledge, being a clinical resource, and professional role model.
• Demonstrates effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication.
• Demonstrates enhanced time management skills and ability to assist others in order to contribute to overall performance of the team.
• Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed by general and unit-specific competency-based objectives.
