About The Position

Cibola General Hospital is a critical access hospital in Grants, New Mexico, dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of the region and surrounding rural communities. Established in 1959, it provides essential medical services closer to home. The hospital is a 25-bed facility offering services in general surgery, 24-hour Emergency care, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pathology, Podiatry, Primary Care, and Radiology. It features three operating rooms, outpatient behavioral health services, clinics, lab services, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, and rehab. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, temporary, or compact license to practice nursing in New Mexico.
  • Current CPR card or enrollment in the next available class.
  • ACLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • PALS certification preferred.
  • NRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing patients for surgery, including reviewing medical histories and performing physical assessments.
  • Ensuring necessary tests and procedures are completed before surgery.
  • Educating patients about the surgical process, addressing concerns, and providing emotional support.
  • Closely monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and administering medications post-operatively.
  • Providing wound care, assisting with mobility, and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
  • Educating patients on postoperative care and monitoring for complications or adverse reactions.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth recovery process.
