About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a full time Registered Nurse (RN) for our PACU in the Same Day Surgery Unit. This position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus for candidates with a minimum of one (1) year of experience. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. BSN or MSN preferred. Specific certifications are required within a certain timeframe of hire depending on the specialty area, including ACLS, PALS, ENPC, ONS/ONCC, Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card, NRP, and BLS.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience.
  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire (for all Direct Care RNs).

Responsibilities

  • Meet and maintain any requirements defined by specific specialty, including obtaining required certifications within specified timeframes (e.g., ACLS, PALS, ENPC, ONS/ONCC, Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card, NRP, BLS).
