About The Position

St. Catherine Hospital in Dodge City is a Joint Commission accredited 99-bed hospital serving as a regional referral center for southwest Kansas. We focus on acute care, offering services like diagnostics, interventional cardiology, and cardiac rehabilitation. We combine patient-centered care with modern technology and medical expertise. This role is in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and pre-operative services, where we maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 in the PACU. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team, patient, and family to identify and meet their needs. You will promote optimal health, well-being, and safety using the nursing process and adhering to patient care standards and the State Nurse Practice Act. You will demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Requirements

  • At least six months of direct RN experience (for sign-on bonus eligibility)
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • One year RN experience
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
