About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Outpatient Wound Care Clinic. This position is part-time, 24 hours per week, and involves travel to outpatient clinics in Covington, Ft. Thomas, and Grant. The RN OP Wound Care/HBO is responsible for providing evidence-based clinical care, utilizing the nursing process, and delegating tasks appropriately. They will assess and coordinate the care of patients requiring wound care assessment, management, and treatment. Initially, the role will focus on intake/wrap-up, with potential advancement to case manager. This position may also involve acting as a Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (HRN), operating the hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) chamber under physician direction. Hyperbaric oxygen experience is not required, and training will be provided. The nurse will demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited School of Nursing
  • If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.
  • Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
  • Focus of education promotes nurses’ ability to practice in clinical area assigned.
  • Knowledgeable regarding basic wound care principles and practices.
  • Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the health system and clinical area.
  • Able to critically think and problem solve in clinical situations.
  • One year current clinical nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • As HRN, able to complete or completion of Undersea Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) approved HBO Team Training Course.
  • Hyperbaric oxygen experience is not necessary for this position and additional training can be obtained within the role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to other licensed and unlicensed health care team members.
  • Provide assessment and coordination of the care of patients requiring wound care assessment, management, and treatment.
  • Act in an intake/wrap up role initially with potential opportunity to advance to case manager.
  • Act in the dual role of Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (HRN), acting as the attendant and control operator of the hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) chamber under the direction of the HBO physician.
  • Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
