Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program.
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (unless on-campus position determined otherwise).
Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience working in a team environment.
Computer skills required.
Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
Support of professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care.
Planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
Providing leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts.
Delegating patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability.
Participating on committees or projects.
Potentially driving a personal vehicle as part of role responsibilities.
Successful TN sponsorship requires state licensure and completion of VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
