The registered nurse in the Outpatient Dialysis areas will be based at Eisenberg but will float to other dialysis satellite locations. This role involves coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care, all within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model and based on the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. The RN will provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts. Delegation of patient care will be based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are essential, and participation in committees or projects may be required. Some employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle for job responsibilities. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship, requiring state licensure and VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
One year of RN experience required.
Current RN license by applicable state requirements (must maintain Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin RN license).
BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post start date (acceptable certifications: American Heart Association/Heartcode® BLS, Military Training Network, Red Cross).
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience working in a team environment.
Computer skills required.
Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
Dialysis experience strongly preferred.
Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Responsibilities

Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, including planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
Possess excellent communication skills, be skillful in mentoring and teaching, and may participate on committees or projects.
Float to other dialysis satellite locations from the home site of Eisenberg.
Potentially drive a personal vehicle as part of job responsibilities.
