Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Unit - Per Diem Level 2 - Nights
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Orthopedic Unit, working nights on a Per Diem Level 2 basis. The role requires the nurse to provide patient assessment, coordinate the plan of care, communicate effectively, individualize patient teaching, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. The nurse must maintain professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations. The hospital is part of Endeavor Health, a large integrated healthcare delivery system serving over 4.2 million residents across six northeast Illinois counties, with multiple acute care hospitals recognized for nursing excellence.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
Nice To Haves
- Must work at least 96 hours every 6 weeks.
- At least 48 hours of those hours must be weekend time if needed
Responsibilities
- Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
- Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are consistent, safe, timely and appropriate.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with all customers, in person, on the phone and in writing.
- Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs.
- Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.
