This is a part-time Registered Nurse position in the Operating Room (OR) at AMC Burlington - Surgery Center. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with the ability to administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential, as is fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, continuing education, and maintaining certifications are expected. The nurse must adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, practice ethical decision-making, respect interdisciplinary roles, and contribute to integrated, unbiased patient care. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and accurate, timely EHR documentation are also required. The role may involve floating to other units and requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles.
