About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the OR Department at Texas Health Cleburne is a full-time position requiring a 40-hour work week with varied hours and days, starting as early as 6:30 am to 3 pm, dependent on cases. This role requires rotating weeknight and weekend call, approximately 4-5 weekdays per month and 1 weekend per month. The department features 4 OR suites with an average of 150 surgical procedures completed monthly. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne is a Level IV Trauma Center offering comprehensive services including 24-hour emergency services, Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Center, birthing suites, community education classes, outpatient surgery, respiratory therapy, physical and occupational therapy, a certified digital mammography program, outpatient radiology services, and pulmonary rehabilitation. It is a full-service, 137-bed acute care hospital with over 80 physicians on staff.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
  • 1 Year Experience as an Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program.
  • 2 years of experience as a clinical nurse in the Operating Room(strongly preferred) or 2 years clinical experience in med/surg
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required)
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care required

Responsibilities

  • Operating Room RN duties and skills
  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
