About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides high quality care in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic, supporting providers with procedural services including Fluorescein Angiography, blood draws for research studies, DNA swabs for research studies, and Photo-Dynamic Therapy Infusions / Lasers. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, assisting during retinal procedures, monitoring patient safety, obtaining Prior Authorizations / Appeals, and providing education on treatment plans and post-procedure care. The RN administers medications, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures compliance with infection prevention and safety standards. This role collaborates with physicians and clinic staff to support efficient workflow and deliver an exceptional patient experience. The RN is also expected to support broader ambulatory operations by floating as needed across clinic areas, assisting with general Ambulatory Clinic needs, and supporting communication workflows such as message pools.

Requirements

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN)
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies
  • Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner
  • Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Two years experience in an ambulatory setting preferred
