RN/Registered Nurse, Operating Room, Full time, Days
About The Position
This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Operating Room at Texas Health, located at 4400 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX 75028. The role involves working days, with a schedule of 3-12 hour shifts per week (36 hours total). The department provides perioperative nursing care, including circulating and/or scrubbing for various surgical procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique and patient safety. The nurse will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure efficient case flow, accurate instrumentation, and optimal patient outcomes in a high-acuity, fast-paced OR environment utilizing advanced surgical technology and adhering to best practices in infection prevention and perioperative care.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma (Nursing) – Required
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing – Required
- One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of a Registered Nurse (RN) residency program – Required
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Required upon hire
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Required prior to providing independent patient care; must be maintained quarterly
- A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Provides perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room, including circulating and/or scrubbing for a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique and patient safety standards
- Collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure efficient case flow, accurate instrumentation, and optimal patient outcomes
- Supports a high-acuity, fast-paced OR environment, utilizing advanced surgical technology and adhering to best practices in infection prevention and perioperative care
- Focuses on responding to others priorities regarding safety, physical and psychological needs while paying close attention to maintenance of comfort and human emotion during health and illness, while providing safe patient care.
- Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
