About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for administering direct and indirect nursing care to an assigned group of patients who are scheduled for Surgical procedures in the Short Stay Unit. The RN performs assessment, intervention, evaluation, and teaching as they relate to the surgical procedure. Provides patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team based on national standards, and utilizing the nursing process. The RN functions within the Nurse Practice Act and other regulating bodies providing patient focused care. The RN participates in process improvement, professional education, committees and meetings to maintain competence and advance the mission and values of Good Samaritan Medical Center. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Ability to administer direct and indirect nursing care.
  • Proficiency in performing patient assessments, interventions, evaluations, and teaching.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of national standards and the nursing process.
  • Understanding of the Nurse Practice Act and other regulating bodies.
  • Commitment to patient-focused care.
  • Willingness to participate in process improvement, professional education, committees, and meetings.
  • Ability to maintain competence and advance the mission and values of Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Operating Room or Short Stay Unit.
  • Experience with robotic surgical technologies (MAKO, Da Vinci).
