• BLS required

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
• Administer prescribed medications in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
• Observe patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Monitors vital signs during local procedures to detect deviations and notifies physician.
• Respond to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
• Documents nursing assessment of patients.
• Rotates among various services such as General, ENT, Orthopedics, GYN, Urology, and Ophthalmology.
• Prepares rooms, sterile instruments and supplies, and equipment for surgery.
• Circulates and/or scrubs during surgical procedures.
• Maintain adequate supplies for cases and checking for expired items.
