Registered Nurse (RN) -Operating Room
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (CV Service Line) plays a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. This involves delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The RN utilizes evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum of care. The unit has 12 OR suites in the main hospital and 6 state-of-the-art operating rooms in the Outpatient Center for Advanced Care. Surgical services provide pre and post-operative care, focusing on patient and family education and ensuring smooth transitions between settings for optimal patient outcomes. The OR performs all specialty surgeries except transplants and offers state-of-the-art equipment and services. The surgery department is staffed 24 hours during the week.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in operating room
- Must have CV operating room experience
