Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room
About The Position
This is a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Operating Room. The role involves providing safe and effective patient care through specific duties as a Surgical Technician during surgical and other invasive procedures under the direction of a registered nurse. The position also assists in maintaining a safe environment and staying current with operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies, and equipment. The role participates in the ongoing Performance Improvement Program and requires flexible hours, including being on call for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved operating room technician program.
- Must be a licensed RN.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Demonstrates yearly competencies specific to unit.
- Ability to take call.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective patient care as a Surgical Technician in the Operating Room during surgical and other invasive procedures under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Perform routine scrub duties according to AORN standards and established policies and procedures of the department of surgery.
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe environment for all.
- Keep current on operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist with the ongoing Performance Improvement Program.
