About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate and experienced nurses to join their team and collaborate with top medical professionals in the Surgical Services unit at Bloomington Hospital. This unit features 14 operating rooms and 2 open heart rooms, performing a variety of procedures including cardiovascular, gynecological, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and DaVinci procedures. Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • 1+ years of clinical RN experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of services within the Surgical Services unit, including cardiovascular, gynecological, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and DaVinci procedures.
  • Collaborate with top medical professionals.
  • Respond to on-call notice and be at the Bloomington facility within 30-minutes.
  • Deliver holistic, individualized care based on patients' and their families' needs.
  • Serve as a caregiver to patients, colleagues, and the community.
