Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room Circulator
About The Position
This is a full-time, day shift position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room Circulating. The role involves acting as a liaison between the operating room staff and other hospital personnel, ensuring the surgical room is sterile and safe, and maintaining the sterile field alongside scrub nurses. Responsibilities include preparing the patient and the operating room before surgery, assessing the patient's condition before, during, and after the procedure, and collaborating with physicians to develop patient care plans. The position requires strong attention to detail and physical stamina for demanding work hours.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Must have a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Kentucky
- Current BCLS and ACLS upon hire
- Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, guest, physicians, and other employees
- Strong attention to detail and physical stamina to handle long, arduous work hours
Responsibilities
- Acts as an intermediary between the operating room staff and other hospital staff
- Ensures that the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patient
- Works side by side with scrub nurses to help maintain the sterile field in the operating room
- Prepares the patient for the procedure and handles the preparation for the operating room before the surgery takes place
- Assess the patient’s condition before a surgical procedure
- Assesses the needs of the patient during the procedure, to ensure the best outcome
- Works with a physician to develop the care plan for the patient during the surgery
- Continues to evaluate the patient after the procedure
