About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the 6 East Oncology department at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN. The position is full-time and works a night shift. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered. The nurse will administer complex cancer therapies, monitor patient responses, coordinate care plans, manage central venous access devices, and maintain detailed medical records.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Administer complex cancer therapies, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, strictly following safety protocols to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
• Monitor patient responses and manage side effects to quickly address adverse or allergic reactions and ensure overall patient comfort and safety.
• Coordinate holistic care plans and discharge needs across multidisciplinary teams to support seamless patient journeys from treatment to recovery.
• Manage and troubleshoot central venous access devices and infusion technology to ensure accurate dosing and maintain patient safety.
• Maintain detailed medical records by carrying out care orders and documenting treatment updates to give the entire care team an accurate picture of patient progress.
