Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Unit - New Grads Welcome! (Days or Nights)
About The Position
Sentara is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for the Dedicated Oncology Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. This 36-bed inpatient Intermediate Care Unit cares for patients with cancer, providing specialized care including chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplant/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management. Nurses collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an environment that prioritizes advanced, evidence-based technology and treatments. New graduates are welcome and will be supported by Sentara’s 11-week Transition to Practice program, which includes a comprehensive 6-month residency for new graduates.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license required.
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nurse license may be considered.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara-approved Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card required within 6 months of hire.
- No prior RN experience required.
- New Graduate RNs Are Welcome to Apply.
- Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Students currently completing an accredited nursing program are encouraged to apply.
