Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Unit - New Grads Welcome! (Days or Nights)
About The Position
Sentara is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for the Dedicated Oncology Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. This unit is a 36-bed inpatient Intermediate Care Unit dedicated to caring for patients with cancer. Nurses on this unit provide compassionate, specialized care while monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, delivering chemotherapy and other treatments, and supporting patients through complex care needs. Care provided on this unit includes chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplant/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management. Nurses will work within one of the country’s largest cancer networks, accredited as an Integrated Network Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including board-certified and fellowship-trained cancer experts, is essential to support individualized patient care. The environment prioritizes advanced, evidence-based technology and treatments, including innovative radiation therapies, robotic surgery, and HIPEC®.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license required
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nurse license may be considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara - approved Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card required within 6 months of hire
- Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
- No prior RN experience required
- New Graduate RNs Are Welcome to Apply
- Students currently completing an accredited nursing program are encouraged to apply
