Registered Nurse Oncology (RN) - Levine Cancer Infusion Clinic Gaston
About The Position
We are seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to support increasing patient volumes at Levine Cancer – Gaston. This comprehensive oncology practice provides high-quality cancer care close to home, offering office visits, infusion services, and a full range of supportive care services including patient navigation, social work, nutrition services, clinical trials, on-site laboratory services, and genetics counseling. As a general oncology practice, we care for patients with a broad range of diagnoses, including breast, lung, GI/GU, head and neck cancers, as well as malignant and benign hematologic conditions. We are looking for someone with ideas and self-motivation to join our cohesive team.
Requirements
- General working nursing experience 2 years minimum
- Bachelors in nursing
- Associates Degree in Nursing and currently registered as a nurse in NC with an active nursing license.
- Active and current BLS
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification is required by the end of the orientation period.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with EPIC and BD Alaris pumps.
- Preferably some oncology experience but not required.
- Experience with accessing/de-accessing port-a-caths and placement of peripheral IVs.
Responsibilities
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
