About The Position

Citizens Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to work in the oncology and IV therapy department at Citizens Medical Center. This role is crucial in enhancing the lives of patients by providing compassionate, evidence-based care. Citizens Health is a community-based, private, not-for-profit organization that includes a critical access hospital, outpatient clinic, skilled nursing facility, childcare center, medical equipment business, and an outpatient pharmacy. Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by the Kansas Board of Nursing.
Successful completion of Citizens Medical Center’s nursing orientation program specific to that unit prior to responsibility for patient care. General hospital orientation completed.
ACLS and BLS certifications
Chemotherapy certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
Ability to maintain good working relationship with personnel in other departments.
Ability to provide direction in application of nursing process, quality improvement standard, organization and departmental goals and objectives, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
Possess interpersonal skills needed to function in a ‘team’ setting.

Responsibilities

Assess patients.
Administer cancer treatments.
Explain the treatments and answering questions for patients.
Manage the side effects of cancer treatments and helping manage pain.
Monitor vitals of patients.
Coordinate the patient’s care with all other providers.
Support the emotional well-being of patients.
Provide information on resources for family members.
Maintain strict HIPAA, HPI and Confidentiality.
Complete other duties as assigned.
