About The Position

Citizens Health is seeking a full-time registered nurse to join the oncology and IV therapy department at Citizens Medical Center. This role is crucial in upholding our mission of enhancing the lives of those we serve. Citizens Health is a community-based, private, not-for-profit organization that includes a critical access hospital, an outpatient rural health clinic, a skilled nursing facility, an onsite childcare center, a durable medical equipment business, and an outpatient pharmacy. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure by the Kansas Board of Nursing.
  • Successful completion of Citizens Medical Center’s nursing orientation program specific to that unit prior to responsibility for patient care.
  • General hospital orientation completed.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with personnel in other departments.
  • Ability to provide direction in application of nursing process, quality improvement standards, organization and departmental goals and objectives, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Possess interpersonal skills needed to function in a ‘team’ setting.
  • Be a self-starter who takes initiative, is open minded and a team player.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with good energy.
  • Create a positive, supportive working atmosphere.
  • Display integrity and accountability.

  • Chemotherapy certification or willingness to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients.
  • Administer cancer treatments.
  • Explain treatments and answer patient questions.
  • Manage side effects of cancer treatments and assist with pain management.
  • Monitor patient vital signs.
  • Coordinate patient care with all other providers.
  • Support the emotional well-being of patients.
  • Provide information on resources for family members.
  • Maintain strict HIPAA, HPI, and Confidentiality.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
