The hospital aims to deliver and coordinate high-quality healthcare to improve community health. A2 is a dynamic 29-bed unit staffed by a dedicated team of nursing and healthcare professionals. This unit provides high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population, including medical-surgical, inpatient oncology, and hematology patients. Nurses on A2 are highly skilled and committed, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver holistic, patient- and family-centered care. Requirements
- Graduate of a school of nursing
- One year RN experience
- Current unrestricted State of CT Registered Nurse license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications.
- Basic knowledge of Nursing principles and practices.
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions.
- Communicates effectively in order to provide technical or complex information as well as instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, managers and patients.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, be flexible and a team player.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Basic computer knowledge in order to enter/retrieve data.
- Requires high level of analytical ability in order to gather and interpret information from various sources.
- Able to take the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances, problems and/or emergency situations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Oncology Nurse (ONC) certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship.
- Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs.
- Establishes a plan of care.
- Implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
