About The Position

The Guthrie Medical Group is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to support our Occupational Medicine team across six outpatient locations throughout Pennsylvania and New York. This role will provide critical support to our Occupational Medicine offices, especially during the busy flu vaccination season. The position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN seeking flexible per diem work in an outpatient setting. The RN will collaborate with employers, community partners, and Guthrie clinical teams to deliver occupational health services, flu clinics, employee health support, and preventive care initiatives across the region. An active Registered Nurse license in both Pennsylvania and New York is required.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in New York.
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
  • BLS certification.
  • Proficiency in Information Technology, such as electronic health records, communication systems, computers, and equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Skilled to work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff.
  • Ability to use independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN in Nursing preferred.
  • Specialty Certification is preferred.
  • ACLS is unit dependent.
  • Less than one year of experience if transitioned from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an outpatient environment.
  • Deliver coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care.
  • Develop, update, and coordinate the patients' plan of care to achieve patient goals and to optimize outcomes and transitions across the continuum.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Perform and maintain the currency of essential competencies as required by a specific area of hire and population served.
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of those served.
  • Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team, including students.
  • Facilitate formal and informal learning for patients/families, nursing, other members of the healthcare team, and the community.
  • Be accountable for safety, identify and correct problems, and integrate evidence and best practice into nursing care.
  • Use data and evidence to improve patient outcomes.
  • Align patient safety, self-safety, and environmental safety as equally important for best outcomes.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Practice at the top of license within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and specialty standards.
  • Promote a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates, and disseminates research and evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrate leadership as change agents using collaborative leadership skills of advocacy, influence, and innovation.
  • Delegate, coordinate care, and collaborate with others as equal members of the inter-professional care team to integrate nursing knowledge.
  • Model professional behaviors as a representative of the nursing profession.
  • Participate in the planning and presentation of educational programs.
  • May perform high-level disinfection, based on departmental equipment.
