About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Observation and Med Surg specialty at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN. The position is PRN (as needed) and involves night shifts. The nurse will be responsible for delivering direct nursing care, managing patient care plans, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and planning for patient discharge.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Delivering direct nursing care while strictly adhering to organizational protocols and physician orders.
Implementing, monitoring, and adjusting individualized patient care plans based on real-time assessments.
Serving as the central hub for all medical disciplines (doctors, therapists, specialists) to ensure unified patient treatment.
Evaluating and organizing the resources and steps necessary for a patient’s safe transition out of the facility.
