About The Position

The Observation unit provides care for adult patients requiring additional observation to assess whether their condition necessitates hospital admission or if they can be safely treated and released home. This fast-paced unit typically manages 20 to 27 patients each day, with an average length of stay of 27 hours, and is supported by 24/7 provider coverage. Our team cares for a diverse adult population, including both patients under emergency observation and those being boarded for admission. Responsibilities include managing patients who range from those needing short stays to those requiring full admissions.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in New York State.
  • Minimum of two years of Med/Surg experience.
  • Telemetry certification required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association only.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - American Heart Association only.
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).

Responsibilities
