About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Obstetrics department, working 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The hospital is recognized for its excellence in patient safety and specialized surgeries, and has been serving the community since 1876. The role involves implementing the nursing process, carrying out physician orders, performing assessments, monitoring patient care, documenting interventions, and educating patients and families. The nurse will also respond to emergencies, manage supplies, and ensure a clean environment. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating service excellence and acting as an ambassador for the hospital.

Requirements

Current Ohio RN license
CPR certification prior to patient care experience
Current NRP and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
Fetal Monitoring and Stable course required within 1 year.
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills
Computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience
Board certification preferred within 2 years in area of expertise

Responsibilities

Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
Demonstrate service excellence and ACE – Attitude, Commitment, Enthusiasm.
Act as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
