About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in the Nursery unit. The shift is from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with an ASAP start date. The unit is integrated with the labor and delivery unit, which is an 18-bed LDRP. All RNs are trained for postpartum and either SCN or L&D. The total staff for a shift is 8-9 RNs, with 2 of those RNs trained for the special care nursery. The SCN handles neonates from 32 weeks and above, and nurses attend vaginal births and assist in the OR for cesarean sections. The unit also cares for grower feeders. Surfactant administration via LMA is performed for appropriate candidates. The SCN has 6 beds, but the average census is typically 2-5 neonates. For travelers, postpartum experience is preferred but not required, while previous NICU or Level 2 SCN experience is required. Nurses should be comfortable assisting in deliveries, starting neonate IVs, and managing babies on compliance.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of nursing experience.
• At least 2 years of NICU or SCN experience.
• Previous NICU or Level 2 SCN required.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• NRP certification.

Nice To Haves

• Postpartum experience.

Responsibilities
