About The Position

The Clinical Care Supervisor (NCS) is a dual-function role that provides clinical supervision of nursing staff and delivers direct patient care in an integrated medical setting. This position oversees daily clinical operations, including staffing coordination, workflow monitoring, and program effectiveness, and ensures services are delivered in alignment with the Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s HHS’s mission, strategic goals, and commitment to culturally responsive care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience required; recent clinical experience preferred.
  • Active Washington State License as a Registered Nurse required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a supervisor or clinical lead preferred.
  • Experience working in an integrated health care setting preferred.
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening/investigation.
  • Knowledge of traditional forms of government and tribal customs and traditions.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in providing comprehensive integrated care services, including client evaluation, care planning, and outreach.
  • Knowledge of community resources, referral processes, and accreditation/certification standards.
  • Knowledge of opioid use disorder treatment, including medications, urine screens, and toxicology.
  • Knowledge and adherence to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2).
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, professional ethics, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA and PHI).
  • Skill in crisis assessment, de-escalation, and overdose response.
  • Skill in patient/client-centered care, demonstrating empathy, respect, and cultural humility.
  • Skill in performing clinical procedures, documenting care, and using electronic health records.
  • Skill in organizing tasks with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to conceptualize patient/client and family experiences through a culturally and historically informed lens.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality, comprehensive, and compliant integrated care.
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing and clinical support staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain training, competency, and compliance efforts.
  • Implement and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance (including state vaccine and point of care testing services).
  • Coordinate crisis response readiness and emergency preparedness.
  • Promote effective communication among staff, patients, and families, address concerns, and support satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with prescribing practitioners to ensure consistent, effective, and efficient support is provided.
  • Oversee clinical documentation and record integrity.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, coverage, and workload distribution to ensure efficient and effective clinical operations.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment.
  • Support continuous education, quality improvement, and professional development initiatives.
  • Provide direct patient care within the RN scope of licensure.
  • Educate patients/clients and families on procedures, treatments, and care plans.
  • Enforce infection prevention and control standards.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and calm judgment in emergencies.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and community partners.
  • Participate in patient/client education, outreach, and community health activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with tribal, state, and federal regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required.
