Assess the physical and psychological conditions of patients continuously throughout their care journey. Utilize the nursing process in alignment with the philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles of HBH. Uphold a safe therapeutic environment grounded in our core values. Oversee and ensure staff adherence to standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policies. Lead and contribute to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, and performance improvement initiatives. Provide essential supervision, leadership, and direction to nursing staff. Evaluate program effectiveness, formulate improvement plans, and implement necessary changes. Coordinate staffing schedules based on patient needs and maintain legal processes for patients. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and regulatory standards. Develop, update, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment planning offered by Nursing Services. Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, document patient information, and reassess changes in patient condition.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed to practice by the Indiana State Board of Nursing as an RN.
  • Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
  • CPR certification and successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior, including restraint and seclusion policies, within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility is preferred.
