Registered Nurse, NICU - PRN, Nights
About The Position
Our tight-knit NICU unit is looking for top skilled nurses. This is a fast-paced Level III NICU that provides care for patients from 22 weeks onward, utilizing cooling and High Frequency Ventilator. The unit offers supportive leadership and opportunities for certification in High-Risk Neonatal Nursing. Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Two years of NICU experience strongly preferred
- Desire to be trained in transport
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
