About The Position

Texas Health Allen is seeking a Registered Nurse for their NICU department. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week on night shifts (7:00 pm - 7:00 am). The NICU department features a Level II NICU/Level II Maternal Designation, 8 LDRPs, 5 Antepartum Rooms, 2 Operating Rooms, and handles 40-45 deliveries per month. The team is described as small and focused on BIG teamwork. Texas Health Allen has served the community since 2000 and is an 88-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital specializing in various services including comprehensive women's and infants' care. The hospital holds multiple accreditations and designations, including a Level II NICU and Level II Maternal Designation.

Requirements

Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention maintained annually and required within 90 days
NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
One year of NICU experience strongly preferred

Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
