This is a part-time Registered Nurse position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The nurse will uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and take action as needed. Duties may include administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The role requires pursuing professional development, completing required education, and maintaining certifications, while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and accurate, timely EHR documentation are expected. The nurse may be required to float to other units to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding of growth and development over the life span.
