About The Position

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Care Nursery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) provide high-quality, family-centered care for infants requiring specialized support. The care model is individualized and developmentally supportive, designed to promote physiologic stability and optimal growth for each infant. Families are essential partners in the care process, participating in decision-making and engaged from admission through discharge. The Registered Nurse in the NICU and Special Care Nursery provides direct, patient-centered care using the nursing process to support infants and their families. This role partners with families and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to promote safe, developmentally supportive care and optimal outcomes, while contributing to a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
1-3 years related work experience required.
License Registered Nurse required.
American Heart Association – Basic Life support Certificate required.

Nice To Haves

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments.
Responsible for systematically assessing the health care needs of individuals or groups and for the formulation of a care plan, its implementation and evaluation.
