Registered Nurse, NICU - PRN, Nights
About The Position
Texas Health Allen is seeking a Registered Nurse for their NICU department. This position is PRN (as needed) and works nights. The NICU department is a Level II NICU/Level II Maternal Designation with 8 LDRPs, 5 Antepartum Rooms, and 2 Operating Rooms, handling 40-45 deliveries per month. The team is described as small and focused on BIG teamwork. Texas Health Allen has served the community since 2000 and is an 88-bed acute-care hospital specializing in various services including women's and infants' care. It holds multiple accreditations and designations, including a Level II NICU and Level II Maternal Designation.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention maintained annually and required within 90 days
- NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- One year of NICU experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
