Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required
BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire
A minimum of two years of NICU nursing experience required
BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire
Strong attention to detail and customer service focus is required.
Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to work independently, or in a team, and handle multiple deadline driven tasks in a dynamic environment is essential.
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and RedCAp platforms.
Review and comply with all relevant HMH and Business Unit policies and procedures, and local, state, and Federal laws and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive, resourceful and reliable

Responsibilities

Coordinating and overseeing clinical research operations for the New Jersey Health Foundation grant-funded project (ID PC204-26).
Participating in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating discharge-related tasks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at JSUMC, in conjunction with the Principal Investigator.
Carrying out research related tasks under the general supervision of the principal investigator responsible for this clinical research study.
Working closely with the medical team providers, the principal investigator of the grant and infant caregivers.
Supporting the principal investigator (PI) by examining the clinical study protocol, reaching out to NICU families, and coordinating with the service personnel who provide care to NICU families throughout the study timeframe.
Collaborating with the PI to design, establish, and maintain a shared data tracking instrument and documentation form for families identified and contacted for study enrollment.
Attaining required CITI Research certification to ensure full compliance with the standards established by the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Working alongside the PI to define and clarify research-specific NICU discharge procedures and outline the precise role of the NICU Discharge Liaison for enrolled parents.
Screening, evaluating, and recruiting potential study candidates; supporting the investigator with the informed consent process to verify that participants understand the study, and securing written informed consent from parents.
Obtaining written informed consent from participating discharging NICU nurses and addressing any inquiries they have regarding the research study.
Administering the final study surveys via REDCap on the day of discharge to both parent and discharging NICU nurse participants.
Monitoring data by reviewing participant utilization of the REDCap discharge checklist and educational resources library.
Initializing account access setup within the REDCap system for study activities.
Conducting medical record reviews for prospective candidates, gathering medical histories and populating study data into REDCap in accordance with protocol guidelines.
Maintaining precise, thorough, and current documentation for every patient enrolled in the clinical research study.
Overseeing and coordinating study operations, ensuring effective communication flows between caregivers, the medical team, and the discharge team.
Participating in research meeting sessions pertaining to this study as determined by PI.
Adhering to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
