About The Position

For over 30 years, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Sarasota Campus has provided care for critically ill newborns and premature babies. As the only Level III intensive care nursery in the area, our NICU utilizes the latest technology and multi-disciplinary specialists to offer advanced life support and continuous specialty care and monitoring. An affiliation with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital ensures access to a comprehensive range of neonatal and pediatric specialties. Our approach is family-centered, focusing all efforts on the well-being of the family unit. We encourage extensive parental involvement, offering accommodations such as visiting lounges and rooms for overnight stays. Developmental care is also a priority, with parents actively participating in their infant's care, including skin-to-skin cuddling. Our neonatal nurses and physicians provide education for parents to confidently care for their infants at home and celebrate developmental milestones. Additionally, Family Resource Navigation services connect families with free and low-cost resources for child development, mental health, medical care, and childcare during pregnancy and for children up to age three.
