Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of experience in Spokane, dedicated to understanding and addressing the behavioral health needs of the community. FBH offers evidence-based treatment to adults, youth, and seniors, operating as a Trauma-Informed Care Organization that believes in recovery and empowering clients to lead fulfilling lives. The New Journeys (NJ) program is an intensive early intervention program providing coordinated specialty care for individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis. This interdisciplinary program assists participants in achieving optimal functioning in various life areas through services like individual resilience training, education and employment support, family support, peer support, case management, and medication management. Treatment can occur in multiple settings and last up to two years, aiming for clients to reach a recovery phase and gain confidence in their abilities. The New Journeys nurse plays a crucial role in supporting healthy behaviors, wellness strategies, and care coordination. This includes conducting comprehensive nursing assessments, identifying chronic disease risk factors, providing education on physical activity, nutrition, sleep hygiene, and overall wellness, ensuring metabolic monitoring, and supporting medication management through education, adherence strategies, and side effect monitoring. The nurse collaborates with the treatment team to improve client health outcomes and quality of life.
