About The Position

Erlanger Health is seeking Registered Nurses for their New Graduate Nurse Residency program, with the next cohort beginning in January 2027. This program is designed for new graduates and RNs with less than one year of experience, offering a smooth transition into professional nursing through clinical training, classroom instruction, peer support, and mentoring. Erlanger is a multi-hospital health system anchored by a leading academic medical center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and serves as the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center. They foster an attitude of caring and compassion, believing it distinguishes them from other healthcare providers. The Children's Hospital at Erlanger is a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center (CRPC), offering a full complement of pediatric subspecialists and the region's highest level of critical care for infants. The Nurse Residency Program is ANCC-accredited and offers three cohorts per year (Winter, Summer, and Fall) to help nurses improve their success in clinical practice and attain career goals.

Requirements

  • Eligible for graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with an Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing prior to employment.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and eligible to take the NCLEX for Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • Proof of graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (final transcript, diploma or letter stating NCLEX eligibility and test date).
  • BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.

  • RNs with less than one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in advanced clinical classes including Critical Care Course, Acute Care Course, Periop 101, and Pediatric Didactic.
  • Engage in clinical rotations in a variety of units before committing to a home department.
  • Meet with hospital experts to learn about topics related to patient outcomes, leadership, and professional development.
  • Attend Educational Seminars for the first year of employment.
  • Obtain Tennessee RN licensure by the specified deadlines (October 1st for Spring graduates, January 1st for Summer graduates, May 1st for Winter graduates).
  • Maintain BLS certification.
