Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for their Neuroscience Progressive Unit, working full-time night shifts. This role is integral to the quest for better healthcare within the Northwestern Medicine system. The Neuroscience Progressive unit is a 29-bed unit that includes a neuroscience step down (12 beds), neuroscience floor (11 beds), and an epilepsy monitoring unit (6 beds). Nurses are trained to work across all areas, providing comprehensive care for neurological patients. The Neuro Step Down Unit cares for complex neurological patients, including those in the acute phase of stroke recovery, and patients with cerebrospinal fluid drains. The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit monitors patients for seizure events using video electroencephalography. The neuroscience floor serves more stable medical and surgical patients with neurological diagnoses such as brain tumors, neuromuscular disorders, demyelinating disorders, stroke, and seizures. The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adhering to ethical codes and compliance programs. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable for the provision and coordination of clinically competent, evidence-based care, including diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional outcomes and enhance unit operations, embodying the components of an NMH nurse.
