Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuroscience IMCU
About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit. This is a full-time, day shift position. The Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit is a community of nurses and other disciplines who believe in the importance of camaraderie and teamwork, providing exceptional care to neuroscience patients including those with back and neck surgical needs, epilepsy, all neurosurgeries, and stroke patients. This role offers the opportunity to work with top neurosurgeons and neurologists, develop strong neuro skills to prepare for the neuro ICU, and train in the epilepsy monitoring unit. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Virginia RN License Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible.
- All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
- Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire

- Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
