About The Position
This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Neurology department at Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN. The position is PRN (as needed) and scheduled for days. The nurse will care for patients with severe stroke, seizure, and other neurological disorders, become NIHSS Certified, assist patients requiring EMU monitoring, provide wound care and manage drainage tubes for post-surgical brain and spine procedures, and support patients with neuropsychological/behavioral health diagnoses.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
- NIHSS certification required either prior to hire or during initial orientation.
Responsibilities
