About The Position

Coordinates and delivers patient care using the health care team philosophy practice model. Coordinates and does patient teaching and discharge planning. Coordinates activities with ancillary departments. Maintains standards of department and the hospital.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Active RN Mississippi Licensure.
• Ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures.
• Good judgment in delivering patient care.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to function in stressful situations.
• Willingness to rotate shifts, days off and work area.
• May occasionally be required to work overtime.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in general duty nursing preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.
• Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization.
