About The Position

Cox Health is a Level 1 Stroke and Trauma center, and the 8th floor is the main nursing unit that cares for these specific patients across a variety of age groups. The unit's expertise covers a wide range of neuro diseases, including Stroke and Trauma, seizures, neck and spinal fusions, traumatic brain injuries, craniotomies, and telemetry patients. It is a team-oriented, fast-paced, and a great learning environment for those eager to learn. The staff of RNs and NAs work closely with other disciplines throughout the hospital to ensure patients receive excellent care and achieve excellent outcomes. The unit has an excellent and active educator who is passionate about the patient population and the staff. Nurses on this unit carry several special certifications such as ACLS, Trauma certification, and NIHSS, and are encouraged to obtain a specialty certification pertaining to the neuro area.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
RN license active in the state of Missouri
BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
Exhibits valuable time management skills
Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Previous nursing experience
